Multitasking Support
With iOS4 Apple added multitasking on their newer devices. This is not available on the iPhone Classic, iPhone 3G, and older iPod Touch. Only certain tasks are available to developers one of which being using the GPS location services in the background as well as playing audio. What this means for CamerAlert is that on a device with multi-tasking enabled you can set up the app and then press the home key and open up any other application such as a SatNav and you will still get your audio alerts played to you. You can easily check if an app is using your location in the background by looking for the small blue arrow near the battery level.
To fully terminate the app (as opposed to sending it to background mode) press the Satellite / Alert speed icon in the top right and you will receive a prompt to terminate the app. You can also turn off GPS tracking and press the home button. If the app is already in the background you can close it in the normal manner by double-tapping the home button, pressing and holding your finger on the app in the task bar and then pressing the ( – ) to close it.
